What would YOU have done...?

I was going back through my contacts and I saw a resolved Q about aborting litters in rescue groups and it reminded me of something that happened to me. About 5 years ago, I had 3-4 foster feral kittens that I was socializing. At the tender age of 4 months, Otto apparently knocked up Claire. I didn't know this, and went ahead and scheduled the spay for her, the neuter for him. I only found out about Claire's pregnancy when I went to pick her up and the vet informed me that he had aborted 3 'near-full term' kittens during the spay. He did not call me or ask my permission to do this. I was livid. The last thing in the world I wanted was more kittens (I was trying to SAVE them) but I do not believe I would have given permission for this litter to be aborted. I paid for Otto. Not for Claire. He tried to recoup the money for a few months until I told him I would sue. That was the end of that. Anyway, what are your feelings? If you were me? If you were him? What would YOU do?
