Do parents wear football mums also?

In Texas football mums are the BIG thing for girls at high school homecoming games, does anyone know if it is normal (acceptable) for mothers or grandmothers to wear football mums to games? If so should it me just a mum or is it ok to do shorter ribbons and trinkets? I know that all little girls (even infants) wear little mums. My son is on the JV football team and his team plays the day before the high school game. Thanks!
